About me
Hi, my name is Johannes Kiefer. I am a professional photographer for architecture and reportage. Born and raised in Würzburg in 1989, I live there with my wife and our dog Nero.
My passion
As a child, I was already fascinated by photography and often had my grandparents' camera in my hand. My grandfather was a passionate photographer and videographer, while my grandmother worked in a photo store. Unconsciously, this passion shaped my past and probably ultimately led to me making photography my vocation. To this day, I haven't regretted this decision for a second.
My training
During my training at a design school and my studies in communication design at fg.thws, my focus was always on photography. My Bachelor's degree in 2015 dealt with the topic »Traces of National Socialism in contemporary Germany«. I then began my master's degree in information design and dealt photographically with nuclear energy and industrial architecture, which led to my final project with distinction »Up to the green meadow« in 2019.
My experience
I have been working as a freelance photographer since 2013 and have gained experience in various fields. I specialize in (industrial) architecture and (business) reportage. I have also published the book »Die letzte Revision« in collaboration with the Würzburg publisher Peter Hellmund. I had the pleasure of photographing an industrial reportage for the Financial Times and am continuously working on various projects, including the photographic documentation of the dismantling of the Grafenrheinfeld nuclear power plant for E.ON and PreussenElektra as well as journalistic work for the Würzburg daily newspaper Main-Post. I also regularly devote myself to landscape photography in my ongoing and freelance project »Journey«.
I have already taken part in a number of exhibitions and have received several awards for my work.

- Festival of photographic images in the »Leerer Beutel«, Regensburg, 2017-2018
