As of December 2017, dismantling (unit 1), in operation (unit 2).
In December 2017, I visited the Isar nuclear power plant (KKI for short) for my master's thesis »Bis zur grünen Wiese«. At the time of my visit, Block 1 of the power plant was already being dismantled, while Block 2 was still in operation.
My master's project shows photographs of the operating nuclear power plant, through various dismantling phases, to final disposal and the greenfield site.
All nuclear power plants still in operation in Germany were taken off the grid on April 15, 2023.
