50 years of the Bobby Car
In 2022, what is probably the best-known toy car celebrated its 50th birthday: the Bobby Car. For a photo report by the Main-Post newspaper, I was on site at the factory in January 2022 and followed production from start to finish.
It has been 50 years since the first Bobby Car was allowed to roll. To mark the occasion, I visited the plant in Burghaslach in central Franconia as part of a photo report. As if I had been transported back to my childhood, I listened attentively to the explanations of the individual stations during the tour of the factory. From the colored granulate to the finished Bobby Car, I was shown step by step the elaborate and careful production of the colorful children's dream. And of course, there was also a test drive at the end.
