The Frankenhalle in Würzburg
The hall in Würzburg, which has been a listed building since 2003, was built in 1927/28 and is located on the "Alter Hafen" site. It has already served many purposes, including for livestock auctions, but also for events.
The hall, located in Würzburg at the »Old Harbour«, has a floor area of approx. 30 x 50 m. It consists of column-free wooden truss constructions and has seating for approx. 800 people and standing room for around 600.
Originally planned for livestock auctions and agricultural events, the hall has served several purposes over the years. It has been the venue for political speeches, including those by Konrad Adenauer, Hermann Göring and Adolf Hitler as a candidate for Reich President. It was also the venue for several concerts by AC/DC and Black Sabbath. The hall has been a listed building since 2003.
