The interior of the control area at KKG is being dismantled manually piece by piece. (Contaminated) materials are being dismantled, sawn up and measured and the heart of the power plant - the reactor pressure vessel - is being dismantled. In addition, the pools in the KKG reactor room have been free of water since 2023, which creates the conditions for dismantling and packaging the reactor pressure vessel.
