The machine house and the standby hall
Documentation of the post-operational phase and dismantling of the power house as well as construction and commissioning of the standby hall (BeHa).
Materials that are removed from the powerhouse are never contaminated. This means that, from a radiological point of view, 100 percent of them can be returned to the material cycle.
The so-called BeHa (staging hall) has been built for the future waste resulting from the dismantling at KKG. A total of approx. 7,700 cubic meters of concrete and approx. 1,700 tons of steel were used for the shell construction. The BeHa was transferred to the federal government in 2021.
