Würzburg Botanical Garden

As part of two reports for the Main-Post daily newspaper, I visited the Botanical Gardens of the city of Würzburg in 2018 and 2020. Here, the entire world of flora and fauna seems to be united in just one place and offers the public an enormous range of different plant species.

The Botanical Garden in Würzburg has existed since 1696 and has been located on the Dallenberg since 1960. The approximately nine-hectare garden is a central facility of the University of Würzburg and is open to the public.

Countless different plant species can be found in Würzburg's botanical garden. From gardens with medicinal plants and large tropical halls to Mediterranean houses, the tertiary forest and many more. Comprehensively designed information boards guide visitors through the entire garden and make the visit a wonderful experience not only for plant enthusiasts.
