Post-operational phase and dismantling of the Grafenrheinfeld nuclear power plant
The Grafenrheinfeld nuclear power plant (KKG for short) was taken off the grid in 2015. Following the shutdown, the so-called post-operational phase was initiated and dismantling began in 2018. From the start of general dismantling at KKG, this will take around ten to 15 years until conventional demolition can then take place over a period of around two years.

A contemporary view
Bombing of Würzburg on March 16, 1945
On March 16, 1945, the bombing raid by the British Royal Air Force completely destroyed and burned down most of Würzburg's old town. Thousands of people lost their lives. The city of that time was unrecognizable within a few minutes.

In June 2021, I visited Büttnerei (barrel maker) Aßmann in Eußenheim as part of a photo report for the Main-Post daily newspaper. From sawing the wood to the finished barrel, I was able to follow the precise production of the wooden barrels.

A historic hall
The Frankenhalle in Würzburg
The hall in Würzburg, which has been a listed building since 2003, was built in 1927/28 and is located on the »Alter Hafen« site. It has already served many purposes, including for livestock auctions, but also for events.

As part of two reports for the Main-Post daily newspaper, I visited the Botanical Gardens of the city of Würzburg in 2018 and 2020. Here, the entire world of flora and fauna seems to be united in just one place and offers the public an enormous range of different plant species.

As part of a report for the Main-Post newspaper, I visited winegrower Stefan Bauer in Thüngersheim. During several appointments, he showed me the entire process in his one-man business: from the grape harvest to the bottling of the finished wine.

Villages die. Villages live
Like many other villages, the municipality of Bundorf, located in the upper Haßberge mountains, has had to contend with major village decline. Only just under 900 people still live there (as of 2018) and it is one of the most sparsely populated communities in western Germany. A documentary about its scenery, the people and life in the countryside in general.
